Malikah is an authority in the field of Physical Planning and is the go-to person in Belize on all things planning. Her career in public service with the Ministry of Natural Resources, Government of Belize spans over thirty-six (36) years, where she distinguished herself, ascending to the post of Principal Planner with responsibility for overall management of the Physical Planning and Mapping Sections and Land Information Center of the Lands and Surveys Department, and until her retirement, was the Deputy Commissioner of Lands.

Malikah continues to serve as a technical advisor and as a member of numerous committees and commissions, including the National Environmental Appraisal Committee, Reconstruction and Development Corporation, Public Service Commission and the Belmopan City Council, to name a few.

Throughout her career, Malikah was a champion of unionism and a strong community advocate. She now volunteers on several social clubs and prides herself in being the mother of four daughters and seven grandchildren.

Malikah has a BSc. in Physical Planning and numerous certificates in risk and damage assessment, GIS applications and EIA to name a few.
